Shuttering issues

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone I've been having some issues recently with my 2017 Fusion and I'm starting to have some issues and I have no clue what is going on and instead of taking it to a garage and spending a couple hundred dollar for diagnosing the issue I came back here LOL

So here is what is going on when I'm driving everything is smooth but when I begin to go uphill on either small grade or a steeper incline the car seems to shutter for a moment until I put my foot into it and give it some more gas

and I tested this theory and went up the same incline a few times come and going from work and found out that it won't do this when I have the car in cruse control only when I have control of the acceleration I have no idea if its an engine issue or a trans issue or a fuel or air issues does anyone have any ideas or have they experienced anything along the same lines when it comes to there car if so I would great appreciate the help

Thank you some much -- Fennygolf

I don't see how you can avoid paying someone to diagnose this.  There are so many things that need to be looked at as well.

Without knowing which engine you have also makes it hard to even guess.

I has to Base 2.5L i did double check the oil today after replacing the hood release....don't ask LOL

and it seemed a tad low but still within normal limits so I will have to book an appointment at this point because all the garages in my area are like 2 weeks behind from what i have found out

Well, start with the basics.  Pull a few spark plugs and see what they look like.  FUel pressure should be checked as well.  It would be helpful to put a scan tool on there and see what the live data says when it acts up.  If it is easily repeatable it will help in diagnosing.
