New monochrome Fusion

My company changed company car policy, so my '01 Exploder Sport wasn't going to qualify anymore. I bought a new ride... a '10 sterling grey metallic Fusion 2.5L SEL with the Sun 'n Sound package. I drive about 2400 miles/month, so I'm hoping this thing really sips the gas. The SYNC system is very HALish. Who'd think we'd be communicating with a computer like this, in a Ford no less?

The level of cush in this car is unbelievable for a $25K car. It's very quiet, very smooth, and very comfortable to drive (although I'd like to hear how some not-so-slender body types are dealing with the seats). Way to go, Ford!

Is there any way you can take some pictures???? Specifically of the front grill. I've been looking to get a Sterling Grey V6 SEL (there is currently 1 in the state of California) and I think I'm going to end up custom ordering. I'm considering getting the monochrome package but want to know how the front end looks like that (it appears 18" wheels are no longer an option unless you get the appearance packages).

And they had that just on the lot at a dealership? No dealer I've talked to has received anything new in like a month, so no one has seen the monochrome package.

Thanks !

Does this help you?

Yes that helps tremendously. I really can't decide what I think of the looks of that front. I do like the other 18" SEL wheels more than these, though.

Thanks so much for the pictures, I've got some decisions to make now.

So do I but I don't know if they will be available as an option any longer. After all, they were 2009 wheels to start with and I have a feeling the new 18" wheels will replace them in the SAP package. I may use the 18" SAP wheels for snow tires and buy new wheels for the other 9 months.

Also, I personally, I like the chrome grill myself.

Yeah I think I might like the chrome grille more on the Sterling Grey (I think the monochrome looks decent but just not quite right). I also just can't get over those wheels.

Anyone happen to know how it works if you custom order, can you order other wheels (for a price of course)? Like if those older 18" wheels are no longer available, does that mean you have no option for wheels but to go after market? I like the plethora of options for aftermarket wheels, but would prefer not to have to throw down like $1500 for new wheels and tires and have the original brand new sets just sitting around...

Thanks.

I like the looks of those wheels. On the Hybrid you have no choice at all.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm not crazy about the new wheels either (18s) it may just push me back to looking at the Sport instead since those wheels I do like. I figure if I have to spend money to change out the wheels, I'll just use that same money towards the Sport and call it a day. Anyway, that's what I'm beginning to think now.

Yeah I was going back and forth between the V6 SEL and Sport for a while, but decided the little extra horsepower and sport suspension doesn't make up for electric passenger seats, auto headlights, dual zone auto A/C (and other stuff I don't really care about). And your signature says you want it in black, but I like the grey more... and they don't do the Sport in grey.

I think I might have found 1 more V6 SEL in grey in my area, but their website doesn't list specifics (spec package) or a price so I have to call em up I guess. I'm guessing they don't even have it anymore, but who knows.

I hate chrome, but I don't want to pay for the Monochrome Appearance Package just to get a non-chrome grille. Can I order that aftermarket? Or just take it off and paint it myself?

No need to pay $895 for anything. In case you haven't heard, the indusyry is in a slump. Tell them what you'll pay for it.

And then they'll tell you they can't even get any cars and you need to take what they have etc. And to order could take months, you know the old dealer double talk game.
