redfire06
i want to love it like my red one but at 2600 miles i have a rattle the dealer can't find, a transmission problem they don't want to fix, something squeaking under the hood when i shut the car off and the sync acting bonkers. it would tell me "index full" everytime i hit it for i-pod. now if i press the button it just says please wait indexing the whole time and it won't always recognize the i-pod all the time.(i tried plugging and unplugging the cable) i am going to have to bring it in again to service.
3 point 5
Sorry to hear that. Hope they get the bugs out for you.
dennisw
This is an Ipod problem call apple. My experience with calling Apple has been tough but maybe you can get someone who can get this worked out.

IIKings 9:20
Wow, maybe I'll keep my BMW and skip the Fusion- of course all cars can have problems but my experience is that the Japanese and American cars are less problematic than the Euro cars. Hope you get this sorted out but this sounds like several stories on the BMW forum.
redfire06
they're all machines, ford seems to think mine is normal. when it blows up they can deal with it. one of the worst cars i EVER owned was a BMW 7 series lol. what a money pit that thing was. i loved it anyway and it didn't steer me from the brand as my other car is a BMW. but basically as my father puts it "any car has the potential to be a shit box"
ARFusion
What kind of iPod do you have? I had a similar problem on an Escape with Sync. The issue fixed when I upgraded my iTouch from 3.1 to 4.0. The iPod problems aren't really linked to Ford. I had issues with my iPod in my Pioneer deck in my Exporer as well.
redfire06
its a touch thats all i know lol it was a christmas present 2 years ago its worked fine since. and it always worked fine in the BMW
FusionDiffusion
Update your iPod to the latest version, then restore it. Update SYNC to the latest version. Then you shouldn't have any problems. My 2G iPod Touch with 4.2.1 works fine.
redfire06
the sync did it again, my pod is running the most current software. ford says its maxed out the internal storage and i had to hard reset the sync PITA because the phone gets lost. but it works correctly again (for now)
redfire06
i should point out i took it to a different dealer monday after it bogged slammed a gear then DIED in an intersection last week. strange they found a TSB for a reflash of the ecm and tcm the other dealer was telling me didn't exist.
ARFusion
Wow how could they miss that? How is it running now?
Jshell757
Do what I did, request an FSE look at the car, and then demand a replacement, or buyback. I got my 2012 Sport AWD because my 2010 SEL was having issues. In the 3/36 BTB, Ford is willing to work with you for a replacement, I told them that I wanted another Ford Fusion, they took about 10 days and then authorized the buyback.
con_fusion
Hey redfire06, on your iPod issues...I was having problems with sync and my iPhone but I did find some useful info at syncmyride.com in the forums area. If you haven't checked there it may help if you are still having issues. As far as questioning your car, my latest repair has me doing the same. My 2010 SEL V6 Fusion has been to the dealer more in it's 2 years of life than my 13 year old Camry ever did ...which is disappointing. Here's a quick rundown - 1. Replaced keyless entry pad, one number light out. 2. Reprogramed PCM/TCM per CSP 10B15, suspect batch of 6F35 valve bodies 3. Replaced noisey serpentine belt tensioner pulley. (May be noisey again) 4. Rebuilt 6F35 Transmission (hard shifting 1->2, 2->3, cold flares) (Replaced, valve body, clutches, seals, gaskets) (PCM/TCM programmed to latest) 5. Replaced roof top antenna (GPS and Sat radio quit working) (Initially replaced radio unit, problem was with antenna) 6. Replaced fuel filler pipe/hose for check engine light Not sure if I've left anything out but you can see that is enough. And yes, my car was built on a Monday but it seems to be more of a problem with parts reliability than anything else. Well...the 6F35 transmission may be a design problem. Each issue takes a few trips to the dealer to diagnose, order parts, come back. Each time taking the car half apart to replace things. What's going to happen when I actually put some miles on this car? Less than 25K now. If the transmission was "right" I wouldn't mind the other stuff but how long before I run into the throttle body problem? With my last service visit, I asked about PCM updates since I was still having cold flares and funkiness. They did find a couple of updates and I'm supposedly at the latest calibrations so we'll see how that goes. Hmmm...Not sure if my list of issues would qualify me for replacement. For the tranmission alone it might be worth it. Did you feel they were fair about pricing etc. I assume you had to come up with additional money for the newer Sport model?
redfire06
i am about at that point, it seems to be running ok right now. but its been less than a week since the repair, i wanted a sport too i should have just ate the extra money (which i really didn;t have) and bought one. plus i still have the door rattle and a squeak under the hood that continues for a few seconds after the car is shut off
JoeyToronto
My SYNC acts up too sometimes, a few times it doesn't even say it's commands and many times it disconnects the bluetooh from my Samsung wireless phone. Nonetheless, at 9000 kms no other issues to date, thankfully.
redfire06
update, it seems better but still has a wicked lag at speed when accelerating. it doesn't seem to slam anymore but still hesitates then too. the sync is hopeless the voice commands are just weird. it wont recognize my command to play a band on the ipod that it did without question like a month ago. last time i checked i am saying it the same lol

Just had to replace my battery which is less than 3 years old from build date. Batteries can be a hit and miss thing plus this summer has been hot where I'm at. I think the last few weeks over 100 did the battery in. Last few weeks It seemed slow to crank in the morning and then yesterday was the worst. It almost seemed like it wasn't going to turn over. Managed to get it to the dealer and they checked it and confirmed it was failing. The person who took down the mileage came to me afterward and said, "Wow, that was really slow to crank"...Yes...That's one reason why I'm here...
redfire06
thanks! it seems to be behaving right now hmmm i was afraid of those fuel fillers. my problem is i drive the hell out of it its 6 1/2 months old and has almost 16k on it. now i am battling a rattle the dealer can't find which will require another trip in. as for the trans at this point i am going to let it grenade itself and hope its under 60k if its over 60k i will just get a lawyer and my receipts for the 15 visits for trans problems.its new trick is to randomly stall out on left turns. its done it 4-5 times now. i have never been so disappointed in a vehicle in my entire life.
