USB and Sync

Wouldnt that defeat the purpose of the continuous charge while plugged into the car?

The USB drive doesn't need charging. Your music is available all the time.

Unless you're saying you want to keep the ipod charged so you can remove it from the car and use it by itself. I thought you just wanted to leave the ipod in the car all the time in which case the usb stick works better since it doesn't need to be charged and it won't drain the battery.

The only downside to the usb drive is that it won't play DRM protected files. For that you need a media player (or convert them to unprotected).

I do want to leave it in the car pretty much all the time. Maybe i don't understand the "USB Stick" your talking about, anyway you can link one in a reply for me to see exactly what you mean. Thanks akirby. (I dont have many DRM files, so not a real big issue)

Oh! Yes I have used one..lol. I understand what you mean now. So that brings up an entirely new topic to discuss. Will "USB, play artist Supertramp" etc, and other voice commands from Sync work on a USB stick?

Of course. There is no difference between a usb drive and an ipod except for protected content.

Hi all I have a 2012 Fusion Sport and every so often Synch just decides to unplug the USB, sometimes by hitting the Line-In button (on USB screen) I get it back other times it just keeps indexing no music? But when I start it next day...USB is connected and working?? Anyone else run across this problem?
