bfar62
hello fellow Fusion owners. I need a little help with changing the spark plugs on my 2007 SEL with the 2.3. There is a hard plastic tube that goes from behind the radiator, over the engine (two bolts fasten it to the head, one on the intake side and one on the exhaust side) that attaches to another piece of hard plastic tube on the exhaust side that I need to remove to be able to replace one of the spark plugs. I can not see how to disconnect the two sections so that I can remove the piece that crosses over the engine. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated as I do not want to break the plastic pieces . Thank you in advance.
FusionDiffusion
The alternator duct? There are two nuts on the exhaust side and one bolt on the intake side you need to to remove. It should just lift off then. It sounds like you might have missed a nut or bolt?
bfar62
I really do appreciate the help with this, I guess I just overlooked one of the nuts, I will hopefully get a chance tomorrow to look at it if it is not raining again. Seems like everyone on here is really helpful from the things that I have read. Again, I thank you !!!!! Tino
I know that this is an old post. I would like to know the size socket that you use and the gap of the plugs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
DaveInPhilly
I believe it was either an 8mm or 10mm socket. There are two nuts in the back that need to come off, then a single bolt on the front right.
Tino
Dave I'm sorry what I was looking for was the size of the spark plug socket itself to remove the spark plug. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
DaveInPhilly
5/8, if I'm not mistaken. The gap is .049-.053.
