seif10mes
Hi All, Just took delivery of a new Fusion SE 6 speed equipped with MyFord Touch. So far loving it, but as a guy with a pretty keen ear - one thing is bothering me. I noticed when the volume on the radio is all the way down, the cabin is completely silent (obviously). As soon as I turn the dial one notch, I can barely hear the music but a very noticable distortion/buzz/hum (however you want to describe it) is audible. I am not sure whether this is norm or whether it is an issue. I have found a few threads with older vehicles but not any resolutions. I can already hear the Ford dealer telling me they have no clue what is it... anyone read/heard of anything similar? Thanks! Seif
seif10mes
bump. Anyone with a '13 SE willing to test this scenario? Curious to know whether its just me or whether this is a common issue. Edited June 1, 2013 by seif10mes
FusionDiffusion
It's not a hybrid is it? I know the hybrids use the speakers for ANR to cancel out the engine drone. Is there any difference if the engine is running or not?
borland
I have a similar noise on 2010 Fusion at low volume. The ringing sound is only with AM or FM radio, not with CD or Sirius satellite. The pitch is higher with FM than AM, so the defect must be in the AM/FM tuner section of the stereo (not the amplifier). Annoying when listening to a radio talk show. If you turn the sound down to zero bars of sound, the noise goes away. So, it may be difficult to get Ford to replace the radio under warranty since it is just annoying. 14Fusion
Just picked up my 2014 Fusion last Friday and noticed mine had this. Was anyone able to figure out the cause of the noise?
14Fusion
Bump. I have a 2013 Raptor and 2014 Explorer, both with the MyFord Touch, and don't have a problem with the static/hum. Went to the dealership the other day and tested this in another Fusion and it had the same thing? Is this just something were going to have to deal with? With the music its not that noticeable, but when I listen to a talk station or use the bluetooth for a phone call it becomes very noticeable.
