nate39
Hi, I am considering buying a 2010 to 2012 Fusion. Right now I have a 2007 Five Hundred that gets 29 plus on the Highway with a 3.0 liter engine. I was wondering if the fusion equipped with the same size engine gets any better? The official figures say it gets the same as my Five Hundred; has this been the experience with those who have this engine? Thanks for any help.

lowpt
We just bought our 2011 a couple of weeks ago. So far we are getting around 21 city. We took a trip last week. It got 31+ hwy.
hermans
I've gotten as much as 34.4 on the highway with my 2010. Usually got 31-32. I don't have the car any more, but I was always very happy with the mileage.
nate39
Well, picked up a 2010 yesterday. It is a SE but has a moonroof and heated leather seats with 30,000 and a 2.5 I4. Anyway, got right on the interstate for my 2 hour drive home. I drove about 20 miles before getting off onto some rural roads. When I pulled off the interstate it read 39.5 mpg at 70 mph! When I got home with probably 60 to 70% freeway it was around 38. No complaints, except when I got home I saw a gash in the side of one of my tires so I hope they are going to take care of that.
PublicHair
Nice! I wanted the I4 due to the gas milage but I got one heck of a deal on my V6. Glad you found one with the leather. Just hopefully your heated seats work better than mine! Mine are weak. Edited July 10, 2013 by PublicHair
nate39
My 500 seats worked fine but you never know. On a side note I don't know why my profile says I am a ecoboost owner, I don't have that clicked in my settings.
durasel
I thought that heated seats only were available on the SEL and better pkg Sport models???
nate39
Yeah, this suprised me. It also has a moon roof. What it doesn't have is a keypad to unlock the door like my 500 did so I locked myself out today! Had a key made for my wallet because I know it won't be the last time.
durasel
You now have my couriousity. The moon roof was an option on the SE but not heated seats. Do you have leather or cloth seats? If leather, the mystery continues because leather was not an option on the SE model...... Does it have a power passenger seat and 17 inch aluminum rims? Are you sure it's not an SEL??
PublicHair
Carmax had a dark gray 2012 SE with a burnt orange leather interior and sunroof. Heated seats as well. 7k miles on it. $18,899 was the price tag. They are out there. I would have got it but I found my SEL for $16,100. But the color combo was amazing
durasel
You mean the ginger leather. That was only an option on the SEL. Ad mislabeled??
PublicHair
I saw it in person. It was for sure an SE. Also had SE wheels. The leather was aftermarket. Very soft and it reminded me of the orange color leather found in the new jeep. I gave it a good look over. But like I said I found my SEL for $16,100 so that was a no brainier.. Otherwise I would have got it. Edited July 13, 2013 by PublicHair
nate39
They are definitely heated leather. They are driver side power but not power recline. I have 17 in wheels but they have a chrome wheel cover. It is definitely SE.
durasel
Someone changed out the interior? Unless I'm totally wrong, leather was never an option on the SE model from 2010-2012.
hermans
You are not wrong. It was not an option in the SE.
nate39
The salesman said she bought it from their dealership and traded it in there. So that is how she bought it. I can send a photo of the SE and the little heated leather buttons.
hermans
Have you tried contacting the previous owner to try and solve the mystery?
akirby
Could have been added aftermarket.
durasel
Does it have a power passenger seat or the outside temperature display on the dash? The power passenger seat or temp reading was not an option on the SE, only SEL and upgraded Sport models. nate39
I don't care one way or the other, just that it is there now. But it is clearly Ford's work.
