urnews
Bass, I sure will be interested in your results and how you achieve them but I can't afford to spend $1,200 to do it. LOL.
dnr924
Hello to all first time on a forum. I have an 07 fusion with 4cyl, automatic, it does have almost 16000 miles on it and I do most of my driving on county roads, but I am running from 40-60 mph down county roads and 60-70 on the highway going to work. I have changed to K&N air filter helped alittle on hp very little on mpg. If I run ac it drops mpg right at 1 mpg. I have been running right at 25.4-26.8 mpg every week for 9 months now. I do run lucas fuel additive every other tank of gas and it is 89 oct.
Meelaan
I do run lucas fuel additive every other tank of gas and it is 89 oct. Using fuel additives in the new Fusion/Milan is STRICTLY forbidden in the manual. It's completely unnecessary and could damage the fuel system. I suggest referring to that text for additional information.

I do run lucas fuel additive every other tank of gas and it is 89 oct. I have not been on the forum in some time. I was updating the group with my MPG on our I4 auto 2007 purchased in late January. Now that I have 4500 miles on the car, I regularly get about 24-25 with all town miles and 26.5+ if high percentage (80+%) freeway or interstate miles at 70-80 mph. The majority of the driving on our car is town miles, and Chicago has some of the worst stop & go traffic anywhere, also expressways are high speed stop and go. It's construction season here. I would caution any new buyer to be aware the economy will be rather poor in the break-in period, ours was 20-21.5 mpg for the first 1000 miles, then ramped steadily to 26.5 mpg after 2500 miles. Overall, I'm very happy with the car. The 4 cylinder whines a bit and cruises at 2500 rpm when at 75 mph, but the acceleration around town is excellent and the handling is better than any sedan I've owned. The turn radius and rear visibility are poor, but overall this car is a very good buy for the money...I'd buy another.
FUZN2NV
Our new (300 miles) V6 SEL AWD is only getting 14 mpg in town, 16 mpg overall, according to the onboard computer, which is only an estimate. This is terrible. I sure hopes this situation improves, dramatically. Anybody else with a new Fusion that is doing so poorly? John Bozman U R NEWS Salisbury, MD (basically flat and moderate temps, 53 degrees on Dec. 16. hey john Shawn C (fuzn2nv) I work at a ford dealership go into your mpg as you scroll through your info when you get to mpg hit the reset button and it should go down to zero start driving and you should get a better number its all based on how aggressively you drive hope this helps

Boz's commute is very short (5 miles) with a lot of stop-no-go. Much worse than the EPA city test.
