Fuel economy gauge

Hello all,

I like to drive with the fuel economy gauge and vertical tach and fuel gauge displayed. When I turn the car on and put in reverse, the driver backing assist display comes on in the left display over the fuel economy and when I put the car into drive, everything is replaced with the round tach and fuel gauge only and I have to scroll through the menus to get the fuel economy display back.

Is there a setting I can select to when I put the car in drive after backing, the display will keep the fuel economy and vertical tach and fuel gauge?

Had the car tinted at the dealer a few days ago and one of the techs looked at it. He said they all do that and as if now, there's no setting that will overwrite it. If you don't like the large fuel gauge, you can tab down on the left down button and put the water temp gauge on. This setup won't change like the fuel economy does.

I discovered this as well. Very annoying. Hope there is a fix coming for this soon. The funny thing is, when I start the car it shows the correct display and after the self check completes it changes to the round tach and vertical fuel gauge.

I apologize if bumping an old thread is worse than not searching and just making a new thread about the same issue, but has anyone discovered a fix for this issue?

Been searching for a few days since buying a 2014 this weekend and noticed this issue. Wife an I have a 2015 explorer for 2 years and I love the fuel economy display it has. But having to regularly hit let, down, down, right every time after shifting is a serious pain in the name of just being inconvenient.

Any help as to if this is just a live with it issue, or if it's been fixed would be greatly appreciated.

Nope.

1. Set it to fuel economy display.

2. Drive around town.

3. Park it.

4. Shift in reverse and the second you put it back in drive it defaults back to the tach.

Litteraly every time you shift out of drive and back into drive it resets from any and all other displays back to tach.

Drive to sport to drive it resets.

Parking over night and go to leave in the morning it resets.

It's a fairly stupid thing to bug me, but given they have a tach on fuel economy display this seems like a completely stupid glitch to occur.

I've encountered the same issue, and it's quite frustrating. Hoping for a prompt fix. Interestingly, upon starting the car, the display initially shows the correct information, only to switch to the round tachometer and vertical fuel gauge after the self-check completes. Eagerly awaiting a resolution to this perplexing display inconsistency.
