drolds1
Wreck involving an elderly driver in Florida? Shocking..... Note the handicapped placard still hanging from the inside mirror. That shouldn't have blocked the driver's vision to the left but that's not supposed to be left here while driving. Lack of attention?
durasel
Good to read that the occupants sound like they'll be OK. That Fusion is definitely totaled!!

junehhan
The way I see this, it is skill of the trucker and a lot of help from the big man upstairs. You have no idea how many times I see 18 wheelers jack knifed or tipped over after trying to avoid someone who pulled right in front of them.
JoeyToronto
I find the review mirror low as is, I am 6ft and the sunroof makes the roof even lower, and a bit distracting let alone a hanging Handicap sign hanging off of it. Here in Ontario, Canada the handicap signs don't hang, (don't know about the rest of Canada) our handicap parking signs are laminated and to be put on the dashboard or you can get a lisence plate with a handicap symbol on it. Don't know how anyone can drive with a sign hanging like that.
akirby
You're not supposed to drive with it hanging - you're only supposed to hang it when you park.
JoeyToronto
Some people just don't get it.
2011se25
This is one reason why I went for the Fusion. Not because I'm a senile driver, but because I wanted something with high safety ratings, included features (ESP) and a good chance of survival. Doesn't hurt that the Fusion handles well to proactively avoid accidents, and came with a free set of winter tires. My cousin hit a guard rail on the highway at 110km/h. It wrote off her 2007 Fusion, but she was okay. Here in NS Canada, the handicap placard is hung from the windshield but supposed to be removed before driving, and is significantly smaller than the one in that Fusion. I'm reminded of this spoof: Of this commercial: And the general going ons of Buick drivers plowing through Farmers markets http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Russell_Weller How did he manage to go for 1000 ft at up to 60MPH? He killed 10 people and injured 63.
JonDavid
I just got my 2014 fusion back from full dealership repair after being hit headin at 35mph. The car had 4 miles on it. :| I literally was on my way home from the dealership and a girl swerved into my lane to miss a jaywalker. It totaled the girls 2001 sedan but my fusion held up really well. No frame damage, only front left corner/fender/door/bumper. Not even the hood was damaged.
