2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid right for me????

Recommended Posts

Hi there and thanks for reading my post I will get straight to the point.

I'm new to the whole "Electric/Hybrid" craze and I have a few questions about the Hybrid style Fusion.

When driving when does the electric motor kick in and when will it stop?

I drive freeway for about 90% of my daily work would this car be good for that?

How does it handle in the snow?

How is the gas millage are people getting close to the 47/47?

Right now I drive a Chevy Equinox which is getting 22/32 so this would be a def step up from that.

I have test drove the Volt I love it but I'm not in love with the price "Techy" here!

Also I will be leasing not buying

Thank you so much!!!!

Mike

The electric motor is used whenever it can be used. It depends on the battery charge level and how you're driving. The good news is it's seamless and you don't have to worry about it. Just drive.

Even on the highway you'll get better mpg than with a non-hybrid. Winter is the worst time - you might only see 38 mpg but in warmer temps you can get 42-50 depending on how you drive and where you drive. Lots of short trips will kill your mpg because the engine doesn't have time to warm up.

With a good set of winter/snow tires it will handle pretty good in the snow.

Ultimately you just need to go test drive one.

There are many threads on your questions at www.fordfusionhybridforum.com -- some struggle with MPG while others beat the sticker ratings, it takes a change in your driving behavior if you want to get really good MPG, and as noted above winter weather will put a hit on your MPG but that goes for any car and is just more noticeable on higher MPG cars.
