2011 FF, OEM vs Aftermarket remote start

Recommended Posts

Hi all, first post..

I have just purchased a 2011 Fusion Sport AWD and doing some research on remote starter options.

I know i want a Bidirectional remote start and would prefer to stay with an OEM but i'm interested in any feedback on the availability of options out there.

I plan to buy and install whatever system i go with..

fwiw, i held an ASE master auto tech cert before i let it expire years ago, so i have no doubt I can do the install, especially with the install thread posted by thefoeyouknow

lastly any leads on the start system for a good price are appreciated.

Thanks in advance

On an 11, you wont need the dealer for any part of the install. Go here for details. This is a 1 way kit, but bi-directional is only different in that the antenna and cable are different and it has a different personality card. And only comes with 1 key fob.

Looking at doing a self install down the road. Could you send me the pdf, please? Wondering how difficult this is...

Thanks!

having done it, i have to say difficulty is inversely proportional to ability.. and the instructions are lacking in some ways.
