Jimmy G
Seems to me to be coming from the rear end. Sounds like gear whine. I hope it's nothing serious as this car's been flawless until now.

Jimmy G
Still waiting for the part. Apparently the whole drive shaft has to be replaced to fix the problem.
ctrcbob
How many miles on your car now? I have almost 19k on my AWD and so far, no hint of problems, but will keep my eyes (ears) open for that noise.
Jimmy G
How many miles on your car now? I have almost 19k on my AWD and so far, no hint of problems, but will keep my eyes (ears) open for that noise. Just over 10,000 miles. It started slowly. I thought it was tire noise at first. When I heard it going up my gravel drive I knew something was up. It's the front carrier bearing that's bad. The car is drivable, but it's real noisy now. I can hear it above the radio.I Hope that drive shaft gets here soon.
