mr shaw
I plan on buying a 2014 or 2015 Fusion in the near future. I'm undecided about getting a SE or Titanium. Is there any difference in the way they handle-ride? I know I want the 2.0 engine. One dealer has a Titanium I like, but it has the 19" tires. That seems like too big a tire for this size car. What difference is there between the 18" and 19" tires as to how the car handles? I've gone on Ford's web site and built and priced both the SE and Titanium with the options I would want. There is only about $2,000 difference in the price. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
akirby
There isn't much ride quality difference with the 19s. Ford does a good job tuning the suspension to accommodate larger wheels without degrading ride quality. The 19s will handle a bit better but probably not noticeable. The real reason to get the 19s is for looks. I don't expect any difference between the SE and Titanium either but you'd need to drive them yourself to be sure.
Joseph Day
I was in a similar situation when looking for my car. After I added all the options to the SE it turned out to be just slightly less than the Titanium. I think the Titanium is a much better looking car and all the options I added to the SE are standard on the Titanium so I opted to pay the extra to get the couple added things I didn't need but surely liked. Things such as the upgraded stereo, rear spoiler, larger tires, push start, aluminum pedals, etc. If you're going to spend the money, whats a couple extra thousand to really set the car off?
junehhan
Remember that your dealer works for you. If they do not have anything on the lot that is perfect for you, make them search for it. My Fusion Titanium came from a dealer 5 hours away because that was how far they had to go to find one without a moonroof(I hate those things). Unless you are looking for a mostly utilitarian vehicle, I believe that the Titanium is the best bang for the buck exactly as you observed since it comes with a lot of the neat optional equipment that you would have purchased anyway. I am not a fan of the 19's either, but that is mostly because our roads are a disaster with all the pothole damage these days. They look nice, but are not going to be road damage friendly.
Joseph Day
I agree 100% (Especially about the moonroof's - LOL). You're buying a new car and making a large investment. Don't settle. Get what you want. Either they find it, or they order it.
Waldo
I went with an SE for the main reason that I dislike dark interiors. The tan interior isn't available on the Titanium, even the new gray seat option is still too much black for me. When you really stack them up option for option, there isn't much you get for the extra ~$1-2K on the Titanium that isn't appearance only. But if the look is worth it to you, then go for it.
akirby
I went for the Titanium because I wanted the push button start and the 19" h spokes and a black interior. After having Tan and light stone in my last 2 vehicles I wanted black. So far so good - I'll probably stick with black for the next few vehicles.
RybSE
I got the SE. I liked the color scheme of Sterling Grey Metallic with black interior and, coming from a 2001 Taurus, the SE had more than enough new bells and whistles. Didn't need MYTouch, auto start, start-stop. I considered the hybrid, but I don't drive enough for it to make sense so I "settled" for the 1.5 Ecoboost. With just over 1,500 miles on it I've really enjoyed the car.
Fusion3.0
Honestly, the 06-09 years are the most reliable. But up to you man! Good luck
flawless_detail
I'm looking at the titaniums right now. Leather seats and awd are a must. My wife wants an interior that I've only seen as an option...terra something i dont know I havent found one. I might just have to get the dealer to find one for us. Having everything we want in a car is a must though and we arent going to settle especially with that price tag Wish I could find a titanium without a spoiler, at those things
