Confused about towing!?

Recommended Posts

Hello Fusion members. I am recently new to this forum but I have a 2006 Fusion SE 3.0 V6. The wife & I are considering buying an RV to do a little camping but I haven't been able to find any information on towing capacities for the Fusion. In fact I don't think I have seen any Fusion tow anything at all on the roads. Is this model heavy enough & powerful enough (drivetrain) to do any towing & if so what weight limit of trailer can I consider. Thanks in advance for any advice in this inquiry.

Hi chief. The 2006 through 2012 Fusion is not rated for towing. If you check your Owners Manual (look in the Index inder "Towing"), you will see that Ford specifically warns agains towing with our cars. That means we should not tow with our cars. And despite the fact that some people may say they tow with their Fusion, MKZ or MIlan and had no problems yet (the equivalent of someone telling you it is safe to smoke because they have smoked for years and haven't died yet...), it still should not be done.

Good luck.
