LoveMachine
First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong spot. It involves engine mods and exterior mods so I wasn't sure where to put it. I just bought a 2015 Fusion SE on Black Friday. I love the car but I'd like for it to be a little more exciting so I have a list of mods in the back of my head that I want to do. The first two mods I'm considering are a cold air intake and fog lights. Now, I've read a million different opinions about whether or not Cold Air Intakes are effective and each thing I read says something different. On the other hand, with the fog lights, at this point I can only afford about half of the parts I need with the Christmas money I have. My question is, if it were you, which of the two would you get right now, and why? Cold Air Intake or start piecing together a fog light kit? Thanks in advance! Happy New Year everyone.
durasel
I personally would go with the fog lights.
akirby
I wouldn't bother with a CAI unless you're doing exhaust and a tune.

LoveMachine
Looks like fog lights it is! I just have to figure out how to install all the different parts. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I think I'm also going to replace the lower matte black grille with a chrome one.
Chris Simons
If the car does not come factory with fog lights, the wiring harness is not capable of operating the fog lights. Will have to be totally custom wiring for it to work.

Monochrome11
I know you are talking about an aftermarket CAI but you should already have a CAI from the factory. Not much to be gained with the aftermarket version.

indifferent
If you want to see it you can see it at the steeda website. It replaces the tubing from TB to the air intake box sits in the same place.
daniylo
It depends on your purpose. New fog lights for improved look while CAI can help boost your ride a bit.
BlackBetty
My first mod, not including tint and invisible bra was a CAI and love it. Gives the car a bit more performance and the sound makes it a bit more fun to drive too!

I do a ton of interstate driving, so rock chips are a major pain for me.
BlackBetty
Yup look up 3M invisible bra or clear bra. It's pretty awesome stuff, it doesn't make you immune to rock chips but it does help a TON. I've had my car since new in 2011 and only have three rock chips.. On the windshield. Lol. One rock did punch through part f the bra on the hood but it didn't get to the paint. Great investment but it is expensive. I got 1/3 of the good done, full bumper, part of the front fenders, strip on top of the windshield, mirrors, and strips along the body line on the bottom sides of the car and behind the rear tires (on the rear bumper). All together I think it was about $800-$1000. I can't remember if that included tint too since I got it done all a once. It's worth it though , the car looks great and we have a ton of sand/rock on our roads due to winter. Took this pic just a couple days ago and as you can see the paint is in like new condition I should add that I don't drive very much though, I only have 55,000km (about 35,000miles) since 2011. I got all my parts from Aliexpress and Ebay. Not yet installed because I was waiting on the brackets to come in, but now I'm on the road. So that's my first project when I get home. - Fog Bezel with Chrome accent and DRL LEDs - Fog Lamps (Left & Right) - Fog Lamp Brackets (Left & Right) - Headlamp Switch (w/ Fog option) The foglight harness ( DG9Z-15K867-B ) I made that myself. Had some H11 connectors laying around, plenty of wire and loom tubing. Edited April 8, 2016 by TXFRDOwner
