Dealership Service

Usually we're all quick to complain about bad experiences at the dealership, but rarely give them the props they deserve when they do a great job. I was driving home Saturday when I heard a terrible grinding noise coming from the right rear when I applied the brakes. I last inspected the brakes this past fall and I thought they looked good. I spent more time examining the fronts as I though they usually wear out before the rears. Not so, the rears wore out quicker than the fronts. We had a winter storm roll through about the same time and I didn't feeling like crawling around in a 19 degree garage for several hours, so I took it to Keim Ford in Columbus. They installed new rear rotors and pads, and new front pads - front rotors were ok. They checked my battery and it was down to 55 cranking amps. It was the original battery, and basically a break-down waiting to happen. They installed a new 8 year battery for $150 plus I get $25 back on a rebate. Total bill with the brakes was $565. This is the first time I have paid anyone to do my brakes, and it was well worth it. Many thanks to the service manager and the tech that worked on my car. A bunch of real pros work there, and I highly recommend them.

It sounds like Keim Ford treated you like gold, BlueOval2010! If you'd like to make your feedback "official" in our system, PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, dealer info, and any specifics you'd like me to document. I'll do the rest! :)

There are actually a lot of good dealers run by owners who still believe in the old school customer service values. Some of these are even part of the large automotive groups. As you said, people usually come to the forums to complain about bad experiences and seldom about good ones. As a result, people who surf the net often are led to believe that every dealer is a stealership.

Well said. My dealer is still family owned and is an eleven-time Lincoln President's award winner.
