Anybody tried LED tail lights on 2010-2012 MY?

Recommended Posts

Has anybody tried the LED replacement tail lights for 2010-2012 Fusions? Mine is a 2010 SEL and I have already gone through a few taillight bulbs. The LEDs are supposed to last longer but are they compatible with the electric system of the car? will they confuse the smart junction box if they draw less current or operate at different voltage?

Hey guys, I recently purchased these LED's for my rear Brake/turn signals. These little guys light up super bright and will make anyone see you.

The resistors are so easy, and only add about 5.00 on the order.

Did you look at the Sylvania ZEVO bulbs which cost $14 for a package of 2 versus these at $22 per bulb?

Was there something about the SuperBright LED's that justify the 3X cost?

Did you actually need to use the resistor to prevent the hyperflashing?

Added following on Dec 13.

Look carefully at the specs of the claimed "CANBUS" compatible bulbs. Many of them draw exactly the same amount of current (thereby being 'compatible') as standard bulbs.

Adding resistors is parallel is also not reducing the circuit current drain.

Neither one is an energy saver so you will need to weigh whether the additional cost and effort is worth the gain in bulb life.

I have replaced the standard bulbs with LED's but only where the light output was at least equal, the current draw was substantially lower, and no other issues resulted (like the "hyper-flashing")
