MTLFusion2010
Has anybody tried the LED replacement tail lights for 2010-2012 Fusions? Mine is a 2010 SEL and I have already gone through a few taillight bulbs. The LEDs are supposed to last longer but are they compatible with the electric system of the car? will they confuse the smart junction box if they draw less current or operate at different voltage?
BlackBetty
You need either a resistor wired in to prevent hyper flashing or the V3 triton LED's from vleds.com
MTLFusion2010
Thanks @BlackBetty. I understand the use of the resistor for the turn signal lights, do you also need them for standard tail lights / brake lights as well? If so will you need two resisters per side, one for the turn signal and one for the tail lights?
BlackBetty
I never looked into it but I thought the turn light and brake light was the same bulb. I'll have to do some searchin and get back to you on that!
BlackBetty
Just did a quick little search/look and I think they're all the same bulb, brake and turn signal. The little one off to the side is always on and of course the small top one is the reverse light.
mozz
Should only need the resistor on the turn signal filament side.

Subcooled81
LED are not bright in a red lens, you are better off with silverstars. I have tried LED's not that great in red Lens
Subcooled81
Not worth it, both clear and red aren't bright, go with silverstar or like
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
I used generic canbus 921/T10 LED lights from EBay, not as bright as hoped, but better than stock: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-1400-Lumens-CAN-BUS-T10-High-Power-15W-LED-White-Backup-Reverse-Light-Bulbs-/121707030611
Car17
Hey guys, I recently purchased these LED's for my rear Brake/turn signals. These little guys light up super bright and will make anyone see you. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/tail-brake-turn/7443-led-bulb-dual-function-28-smd-led-tower-wedge-retrofit-car/1648/4171/ The resistors are so easy, and only add about 5.00 on the order.
Subcooled81
LED are fine in reverse, tag lights, and front marker/parking lamps.
eGuru
Hey guys, I recently purchased these LED's for my rear Brake/turn signals. These little guys light up super bright and will make anyone see you. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/tail-brake-turn/7443-led-bulb-dual-function-28-smd-led-tower-wedge-retrofit-car/1648/4171/ The resistors are so easy, and only add about 5.00 on the order. Did you look at the Sylvania ZEVO bulbs which cost $14 for a package of 2 versus these at $22 per bulb? Was there something about the SuperBright LED's that justify the 3X cost? Did you actually need to use the resistor to prevent the hyperflashing? Added following on Dec 13. Look carefully at the specs of the claimed "CANBUS" compatible bulbs. Many of them draw exactly the same amount of current (thereby being 'compatible') as standard bulbs. Adding resistors is parallel is also not reducing the circuit current drain. Neither one is an energy saver so you will need to weigh whether the additional cost and effort is worth the gain in bulb life. I have replaced the standard bulbs with LED's but only where the light output was at least equal, the current draw was substantially lower, and no other issues resulted (like the "hyper-flashing") Edited December 13, 2016 by eGuru
jwf
I got the Philiips Vision 7443 LEDs for my 2011 and they are perfect. But I need to attach the resistor and I don't know which wire to attach it to. Does anyone know what color wire is the turn signal coming out of the rear sockets?
eGuru
I am also using the Philips Vision 7443 LED's. You attach the resistors to the VT-OG and GY-BN wires.
