Will a 2011 OE Sport Wheel Fit My 07 Fusion SE?

Hi,

I was wondering that will a 2011 OE sport wheel (part number AE5Z1007A) fit my 07 Fusion SE with 2.3 L I4? I've learned that my stock 16" wheels measure in 16"x6.5" with +40 mm offset rims and 205/60R16 tires, while the sport wheels come in with 18"x7.5" and +44 offset rims and 225/48R18 tires. Since the 08 model could be optioned with a similar style 18" wheel with identical dimensions, I guess my plan of changing to those 2011 OE sport wheels will work out on my Fusion just fine? How about center bore size? Are all Fusion models prior to 2013 share the same 67.1 mm sizing? How will upsizing to 18" from 16" affect the suspensions, brakes, speedometer, steering, etc.? I have all those parts stock for now.

I've seen forum member fusionff's signature photo (for instance, in this thread). Your Fusion is the exact way how I want mine done, maybe minus the lowering part and the V6... I gotta say this car inspired me big time!

Thanks in advance!

Buy'em, and bolt 'em up. Simple as that. The only issue is with the centercaps, I forget if it's the rear or front wheels when bolted up, but I think it's the rear. The centercaps will push out ever so slightly, you just need to file down the points on the rear of the centercaps so they fit flush. A dremel or similar tool is all that you need. And do all four centercaps, so when you rotate the tires, there's no issue when moving the wheels from front to back. It's only a few minutes of work, well worth it though. And now, for a little inspiration...

That's great to know! After changing to the 18" ones, do you notice any change on the stiffness, hwy road noise, braking, steering, etc.?

Just as a backup if this plan didn't work out, I'm also looking at a set of the 2008 Mazda Speed3 18" wheels. The dimensions are identical to the Fusion Sport wheels except the offset. Instead of +44 mm, Mazda's are +52.5 mm I believe. Given that I'll still run 225/45R18 tires, will this offset cause the tires to rub?

When I switch from the 17" to 18" wheels, I didn't notice a change in the ride at all. And I agree on the Mazda wheels, it is possible there will be a rub issue on the inside, and also pulling the wheels in further isn't my cup of tea.
