vagh_nagas
Hello everybody I was hoping you guys would be able to help me. My Passenger side mirror managed to snag a tree branch while it was falling and broke. I have tons of questions that I hope you guys can help me answer. 1. How hard is it to replace the stuff myself? 2. If I were to order heated mirrors from a website because they are the only ones in stock would they work on my non heated sockets? I understand the heating element would not work but would everything else (movement) 3. If I were to get these how hard would it be to wire them up to heat when I want to, even if I need to create my own switched circuit. 4. if I order black ones but my car is grey how difficult is it to paint them if they are designed to be painted. 5. Lastly would straight black mirrors look good on the metallic gray color my car already is? Please let me know as soon as possible there are very few left in stock in the store (amazon) and I need to order them.
TXFRDOwner
Maybe this will help ! This jumps directly into the steps to remove the mirror and skips the door panel removal steps. If you need that too let me know. 13-15 Ford Fusion Mirror Removal.pdf Here's the connector Pinout for the passenger side mirror:
Jmort
Is there anyway to replace black outliner/rim? Seems absurd and expensive to replace the whole mirror for this? I have tried but it seems there is no way to access the last screw on the lower left of the passenger side mirror. I would gladly break down a new unpainted mirror to get the part as its cheaper then buying and replacing and painting the whole thing.
TXFRDOwner
to top or bottom piece ? Top is the cap, and I believe those come off very easily, ... the bottom piece (where the mounting bolts are) I would assume can't broken down easily since it holds the mirror motor, wiring, etc ... but nothing's impossible. If I had to get it open I would treat it like a headlight / taillight mod. ... heat it up until the glue that holds it together starts melting and then carefully pry it open. Or you can always take a trip to the junkyard and bargain.

fusionff
i did go to junkyard and found a replacement mirror but I cant figure out how to remove the old one. any photos or videos around for this? This video below will show how to remove the interior door panel, which needs to be done to remove the mirror. Once the door panel is off, you can easily see how the mirror is bolted on and wired up.
eGuru
Good video from fusionff on getting the door panel removed, but I wish the maker would have invested $10 in some plastic panel removal tools to minimize marring. A slip with a flat-bladed screwdriver can be pretty ugly.
