Dash reflection on windshield

I have a 2008 Fusion with black interior and the charcoal gray dashboard and every time I drive it on a sunny day I get reflection on my windshield of the dashboard and its very annoying when driving.

Do you know of anyways to fix this for cheap? I have tried the armorial low gloss and no gloss compounds but has had no affect.

The first step is to stop putting anything on it. You want it dry and not shiny. Never heard this complaint on the Fusion and especially not with the dark dashboard - only the Edge's Camel dash.

+1 on akirby's comments. Are you Armoralling it? If so, you should stop. Armorall is not suitable for current materials. Use a damp cloth or a plain duster cloth. If you must treat your dash, use 303 Protectant (available at most boating shops). It provides UV protection without leaving a shine or fading the dash or other materials.

This is an easy one to answer. Go to www.dashmatt.com and order a dashmatt from them. I have one in each car. They work great. Best to order Black as you will have much less reflection. One of my cars has a Tan dashmat and I get a little reflection from that one. Cost is very reasonable.

Wear polarized sunglasses...they'll help get rid of most of the reflection and surrounding glare

Get polarized sun glasses. Takes 90% of it away! Hell, this is a lot better than the new explorers. In that all you have to do is look forward and know how fast you are going.

I have already checked out that dashmat link, but those things seem better to cover up other types of glares...not the vents of all places.

I am guessing that my car was covered in armorall when it came from the dealership? I can't really tell but I am going to try that trick next. I've moved my seat in a few positions and the sunglasses thing as well. I may post a photo up to show exactly what I am talking about.

So far, with the rest of my car, I am impressed. Love the features in the car. Much different than driving a VW (which was what I came from).
