fistfulladirt
The service department did some "research" and found there is a TSB for the AC stink. Unfortunately, the dash has to be removed to replaced the climate control housing. My car has less than 15k miles and I've had the ac start-up stink since new, and has somewhat permeated the interior of the vehicle.

I can check into some additional options to help things smell sweet again. Just PM me your VIN, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location. fistfulladirt
Well the stink is gone, hopefully for good. I see no other permanent options other than what the TSB recommends.

Thanks for reaching out, traviscw. The best first step is heading to your dealer for a diagnosis. Once you set up an appointment, please let me know, along with your mileage. NewtoFord
I have also had major smell issues with my 2013 Fusion. The car is in its second dealership. They have looked into whether it has water leaks and cleared the evaporator for the air conditioner because they thought the a/c was clogged. They also ripped out the carpet. The Fusion has been in the dealership for nearly 2 months now and continues to have a horrible mildew smell. The dealership said that the car made his whole shop smell. My wife is pregnant with our first child and I have requested a buy back from Ford based on these circumstances but Ford has failed to call me back when they have promised to and I have been waiting over a month for a response. Ithas been very aggravating. We loved our Fusion but I refuse to subject my pregnant wife and future child to a car that has had mold in it for months.
