JayGee
I saw a video, (Ill link it below) where the guy did a 0-60 in D, got 8.5, then in L, and got 8.1. I was just wondering if it was ok to do that? Im sure it puts more stress or whatever on the trans but Im just bored and wondering. Thanks guys
FusionDiffusion
It's okay to do that, but there is no point in doing it. If it is floored it will shift at redline either way, the point of L is to increase engine braking and hold gears longer when you are using light to moderate throttle. The video shows a less than ideal 0-60, they are starting out with a turn instead of going straight. Also he wasn't very careful timing it, I did a frame-by-frame analysis and got 9.1 seconds (D) and 9.0 seconds (L), so really no difference like I said. If you want maximum acceleration just floor it, that's it.

propwash
Interesting video. Do you think he'd get better acceleration times if he inflated his tires properly? Notice that his TPMS light is on.
