Bman505
Hi everyone, I made a post in the introductory area of this site, but I'm sure that area is not well traveled so I am doing a slight re-post here. The intro post is here if you want to see it. http://www.fordfusionforum.com/topic/14297-greetings-2013-titanium-20-ecoboost/ I wanted to start a conversation on the 2nd half of that post about the pros and cons, which I will paste here. I fully invite everyone to add their own pros and cons, as well as comments on mine. Especially if you have ideas to resolve some of my minor annoyances. Pros: #1 2.0 Ecoboost! - The low rpm spool of this turbo (read: no/very small turbo lag) makes the car feel like a small V6! Well done on this Ford! #2 AWD - The all wheel drive feels really nice, I seem to be always planted in turns if I feel like doing an aggressive turn. #3 Amount of luxury items - It feels like I am in a more expensive car. Perhaps I am a bit biased here because I bought it used instead of at new car price. #4 Spacious rear seats - I fit a car load of adults in this car, and as far as I could tell, comfortably! #5 Touchscreen size - It is huge! It almost feels like a taste of what a Tesla touchscreen would be like. #6 Sport mode - Actually feels sporty with the car's auto trans. allowing high RPMs. Cons: #1 MPG - in my high elevation location and about 95% city driving I get about 20 MPG (even when driving like a 80 year old) I feel it could be a bit better. It probably has something to do with con #2... #2 Weight - This car is Incredibly heavy!!!!!! The info sheet my dealer gave me for the factory warranty has the weight listed at 4700+lbs!!!!!! I only wonder how unbelievably awesome this car would perform if it were lighter. Minor annoyances: #1 Touchscreen location - At certain angles the sun will completely washout the touchscreen. #2 Touchscreen responsiveness - seems like sometimes it works great and other times you have to either jab it harder or in just the exact middle of a huge button to get it to respond. #3 Seat position to steering wheel - As far as I can tell the steering wheel is locked in place and has no adjustments. I would have liked to customize this a bit. Is it truly locked in place or am I a dummy and missing the control for that? #4 Battery location - Battery was a bit of a pain to remove/replace (yeah was sold to me with a dead one, that I hopefully will get reimbursed for) since it is tucked underneath the back of the engine bay. I wont be dealing with that very frequently so its not a big deal. #5 Titanium rims - This one is just personal preference but I am not huge on the incredibly "spokey" looks of the rims, at some point I might swap them out for something aftermarket. Things being fixed: I didn't realize it when I bought the car but the automatic proximity unlock feature for the door locks work for both the front and back passenger side of the car, but not the front and back driver's side of the car. I am having this repaired under the bumper to bumper factory warranty right now in addition to one of the recalls being serviced.
BlueOval2010
Check the bottom of the steering column to see if there is a release lever to adjust the angle. That's where it's at on my 2010. May be completely different on yours.
hermans
On the bottom of the steering column and towards the end of the column. This was very inconvient placement.....for me. You have to reach really far to find the adjuster.
akirby
If you think the Fusion battery is bad, try a Focus or Escape. The entire battery is under the cowl, about 4 inches further back. That's why I let Advance auto parts change the batteries.
