Help with 2016 Fusion Hybrid Wheels

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at the 2016 Fusion SE Hybrid configured as such

  • 502A
  • Heated Steering wheel
  • Nav
  • Moonroof

And I would like to change the wheel from "17-inch Hybrid Unique Aluminum Wheels" to the "17-inch 10-spoke Painted Aluminum Wheels"

However when I select that wheel it auto removes the Heated Steering Wheel as well as moving the options to 501A

If I then select the 502A package again it auto removes the 10 spoke wheels

I spoke with the dealer and he said "there must be some rule at Ford factories that doesn't allow them to do this". I further asked if he could swap the wheels with a car on their lot and he told me "everything was different, bands and clips, etc" and the dealer owner has said no more wheel swapping allowed on new sales, only used cars.

I can kinda get the Ford factory rule, perhaps they don't have the capability to do such custom requests for the assembly line. But what about the dealer's rule?

I called the parts department ahead of time and the 10 spoke wheels I want (and the Titanium comes with) are $158 while the 15 spoke SE wheels are $207, so I don't think its a $ issue

Thank you in advance for any thoughts/insight

Those wheels are only included with the 501A "appearance package" and the heated steering wheel is not available with the package.

As for the dealer - they can do whatever they want when it comes to swapping wheels. Check with another dealer or for $158 each just buy the 4 new ones and sell the old ones.

Or just upgrade to a Titanium where you get both standard with the 600A package.

So there are no technical reasons the wheels would not work with a 502A equipped Fusion?

The dealer said it has caused them nothing but trouble/headaches doing wheel swaps mentioning "bands and clips" being different and I was trying to understand if that was real.

Will reach out to other dealers
