Musfang
I own a 2014 Titanium. When looking at the car head on, I have noticed that the hood is not aligned properly above where the headlights meet the hood towards the grill. Both sides have misaligned gaps. Since I noticed it on my Fusion, I started looking at others on the road and am seeing this problem everywhere! I even went to my local dealership and noticed it on new models. It almost looks as though the hood is not shaped properly. I noticed it on some of the pics posted on this site as well. I have approached my dealer on the issue. I was the first time anyone has mentioned it to them. Their first offer to attempt a fix is to remove the bumper etc. It is my only option so I am going to take it in, but I feel like the problem will not get fixed. This problem is widespread across Fusions and as it turns out, Focus models as well (I noticed it on the new dealer models too). I'm a perfectionist in many ways, but I feel that this is unacceptable craftsmanship from Ford. I'm angry that my $34,000 Titanium isn't perfect from the factory. Let me know what you think after you look at your own Fusions. My other cars don't have crooked, misaligned hoods so please do not reply with the standard excuse that the dealer tried to give me of "Every car is different."

Musfang
"How bad can it be if you're the only one to complain about it?" Is that question asked with a country bumkin accent? Were you offended somehow? Hmmm, is my Ford dealer the only dealer in the United States? Hmmm, how about if you have nothing to say that pertains, don't flood the post with idiotic statements. Like my post says, I have seen it numerous times repeated on nearly every Fusion I see.
Musfang
Here is an example of what I have been seeing... Look at the member photo gallery link above and look at he white Fusion posted by pchenard91. The hood fitment on his Fusion is what I am referring to. The fitment is not proper.

Bman505
I can validate that the lines are a bit off on mine, but the way they added black trim pieces around all of the edges it almost looks like they planned to give themselves a lot of wiggle-room in the first place. So I can validate that things are not perfect on mine, but its not a huge grievance for me.
morrjr66
I noticed yesterday that the gap on the right front side of my hood where it joints the front fascia was a bit larger than the gap on the left front side. I screwed the right front rubber bumper in about two complete turns, and the gap on both sides is now nearly identical.

TBH, I never noticed and the hood alignment was checked when I had the strut tower braces and hood struts installed. On an Ingot Silver Fusion, it was obvious when looking from the front but it isn't so on my Tuxedo Black. Might be color related as to the level of visibility. <shrug> But ... I'm not going to be concerned as any misalignment is so darn small it makes no sense to jump through hoops to get it "just right". There will be things that vary from car to car, and for all you know the hood could be straight, but your headlights may be cocked a little. When you say something isn't lined up its always relative to something else... so for you to say that the hoods don't look like they are aligned correctly could be asinine... it might be the fenders... or the grill. Either way, the interior is what you will be seeing the most of.
MoreTrife
Musfang, As I was refilling my 2016 Ford Fusion SE Hybrid, I noticed this exact same thing - front of the hood misaligned. Hadn't noticed it before. So I did a search and came across your posting. Did the dealer repair it? Did it resolve the issue? Thanks for the help.
zip89105
When I was shopping 2016 Fusions last month I noticed quite a few hoods out of alignment on the drivers side, where the gap was double the size of the passenger side. It was very obvious. Edited December 9, 2015 by zip89105

superspike
My 2016 Titanuim has the same problem - gap above headlight is larger. The problem does not seem to be the hoos as the sides are flush in height with the fenders. The isue seems to be that everything on the drivers side is lower. Make sense to anyone?
superspike
I had my dealer look at the hood problem today. A couple hours of magic in their body shop and the problem is gone.
Jmort
I concur, gap on my passenger side much bigger then drivers side. I have been looking at others recently and after noticing mine and see it on some but not others.
kennycoulter
old post... I have had mine since Dec. 2013. I noticed it right away, but thought that my car was wrecked and repaired. Recently, as I have been working on a lot of stuff on my car, I was trying to check the hood and latch assembly.... It seems that there is a catch for the hood on both sides, but the passenger side doesn't seem to move (on mine). I can pull up on the hood on the passenger side, and it will be latched on the driver, until you push the yellow release handle. I thought that might be the reason for uneven pressure? Not that it is the worst thing in the world, and not that we should all have any problem, but I am happy that it wasn't just me.
