Lanceman
Good morning to you all, Maybe this has been discussed before and if it was, sorry for a dumb repeat question. I have a bone stock 2012 SEL and was interested in "upsizing" my tires to a 235/50/17. Has anyone done this, and is there any problems/issues to be aware? My thought behind this is to slightly increase the sidewall height to improve ride quality. Thanks in advance for all your advice, Lance
akirby
You'd only increase the sidewall height by 5 mm ((235 - 225) * .50). It shouldn't really hurt anything but you also probably wouldn't notice any ride difference either.
fusionff
Nothing to worry about at all. I went from 225/50/17 to 235/45/18 (on stock Ford wheels), which is a hair taller than 235/50/17. You will not notice any change at all, as stated above. They will fit on fine though.
turbo88coupe
fusionff Does it change the speed on your speedometer when you use the 235/50/17?
