bpetersen6136
I took my 2012 Ford fusion into the dealer at about 15,000 miles because it was making a horrible noise in the engine bay. The technician determined it was a pulley bracket and after replacement the issue seemed to be resolved but the next day the check engine light came on and the car began running rough. I took it back to the shop and they determined the CVT solenoid had to be replaced (don't think this as a coincidence since it was worked on the day before). Ever since this repair the car seemed to make a ticking noise when cold and it seems to be getting louder over time. I've had it into the dealer 3 times over this noise and they keep telling me there is nothing wrong with the car and its normal engine noise. Please listen for yourself and provide me with any feedback you may have.

bpetersen6136
Thanks for the video. I took these videos and my car to a different Ford service center. This time they actually bore scoped the engine and found some piston damage apparently due to a faulty part. They're now replacing the short block under warranty. Luckily this was finally addressed by Ford before the warranty expired. I will definitely not be going back to the previous Ford dealer ever.
Blue SEL
I'm glad you got it under warranty! Some dealers are better then others.
golfer33
I have the same problem, with a 2011 Fusion 2.5L and have taken it to my Ford dealer twice, each time they say its normal engine noise(which I don't believe)....other than the engine noise I am very happy with the car...but when it comes time to trade it in with a noise like that who will take it??....I am now going to take it for the 3rd time and was suggested have the engine scoped......Thank you for the advice
