Speakers Blown

Recommended Posts

As the topic states, some of my speakers in my Titanium '14 have decided that it was time to go, unfortunately. From what I can tell right now, only the small speakers by the door handles are blown(I was debating getting them replaced but now I have little choice). So I'll need help figuring out the right sizes for the speakers in the car, preferably all of them. And would it be a good idea to get a speaker from something like Polk. Thanks I'm advance all.

Crackling is a sign of a wiring issue, such as a loose connection, not a blown speaker. A sign of a blown speaker is no bass or music that doesn't sound clear and when you take the speaker out the diaphram is torn from the mounting or from the cone. Because tweeters deal with the high range of the frequency band they rarely blow. Most often you will blow the bigger speakers that are mounted lower in your door. Double check the wiring to the speakers and I bet you will find your problem.
