Does Ford have something similar to Mercedes' WIS?

Recommended Posts

Hello gentlemen.

I'm new in this Forum, although I have a Ford Fusion SEL 2010 for almost 2 years now. Ever since a friend of mine, who is a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, showed me the wonderful WIS system I ask to everyone I can: does Ford have something similar? Well, I think they must have, at least to help their service crews worldwide. But, do they sell their system? Is it possible for any Ford owner to have access to that kind of information? I haven't got any good answer so far (positive or negative).

For those of you that don't know the Mercedes' WIS, it stands for Workshop Information System and contains all the step-by-step instructions for any maintenance service in any Mercedes vehicle since 1985 (I guess), including test parameters when necessary (eg, expected spring deformation), tools that you'll need to perform that particular service and all fluid requirements (lubricantes and fuel).

It would be wonderful if Ford had something similar...

Regards!

The Ford Workshop manuals have all that information. They are available online to all dealers and you can usually find hard copies on ebay or subscribe to certain services to gain access.

Here's an example:
