andyross
I recently noticed that the left side BLIS on my 2011 Fusion has stopped working. I no longer get the light in the mirror when a car is next to me. The right side works fine. When I start the car, the left light only goes on for about a second. The right side stays on for a few seconds. There is no error message in the message center, nothing that would imply it's not working, other than noticing it. Are the sensors visible by just looking under the sides of the bumper? I'd like to know if it worthwhile to just take a look for anything obvious (cable damage, etc..) Has anyone had something similar happen before? To be honest, the BLIS itself isn't all that useful, as I have my mirrors properly adjusted (if you see the side of your car, they are too far in.) I do think the CTA feature is more useful.
Multitask
could just be a burnt out bulb
andyross
It's not a bulb, but an LED in the rear-view mirror. It does work, as it turns on for about a second when you start the car. It should stay on for 3-4 seconds.
rpaz61
It could be a faulty BLIS sensor. I had one of mine go bad due to a bad splice in the wiring. It was repaired under warranty.
rpoffen
I had the left side go out intermittently on my 2010 FFH. Funny thing is that when I hadn't started the car for a couple days, it would work. When I drove the car daily, it would stop working on subsequent days. That was a couple years ago, but now it works fine all the time. Nothing has changed, so it fixed itself.
andyross
Last Saturday, it did work for awhile. I suddenly noticed the light blinking on and off as cars went past. Unfortunately, it stopped working after I parked and then restarted the car later. Between time and weather, I haven't had a chance to look at the actual module to see if it's anything obvious. I looked online, and it looks like the module is $800-$1200!!! Edited August 4, 2016 by andyross
