Have to say I like the car. I see oppurtunity everywhere for a performance version..SVT or maybe just another Badge... smooth drive, holds the road well.. this is my first front wheel drive in 15+ years.. very littel torque pull on standing starts.. wish it was little jumpier at low RPMs, once you hit 3500, it shoots well, nice ride at 80+ mph... got a 2 year lease, I could see looking into the SVT when it's up...

This is one awesome car. I love it more every time I drive it. About 150km now.

I can't get over how quiet it is on the road (the 16" Continental all seasons instead of the 17" Michelin Pilots probably make a difference). I've also had a couple of rides in the back seat. It definitely has more road noise than the front, but still very acceptable.

The suspension does an excellent job of absorbing the cracks and dips in the road and railway tracks.

The manual transmission is very smooth shifting, the shift knob also has a nice feel. One thing I have noticed is the rpms seem to flare up a little bit during shifts. It is more noticeable under hard acceleration when shifting at higher rpms. Not sure if this is normal or not.

With the manual transmission, the 4 cylinder power is definitely respectable and adequate for me, even after having driven a Mustang GT for 2 years. This is no race car, but power is decent nonetheless. Here's wishing for a V6 manual!

Headlights are good. What I really like is the low beams stay on when you put on the high beams, eliminates the dim spot right in front of the car that many other cars have.

Seating is comfortable. Nice bolsters on the side.

6 speaker audio provides good sound quality. Haven't had a chance to try MP3s in it yet.

I am a ford salesman for Woodhouse Ford, and I leased my 06 Fusion SEL V6 black on light tan leather. I have every option available on the car and I love it. My wife drives it though. I am really looking forward to the 07 model producing an SVT car. i will trade this one in as soon as one hits my dealership.

Noneother (and all),

Every "new" car is a nice car, to some degree or another. But the novelty of new disappears with familiarity. A more telling gauge would be owner satisfaction after six months, one year, five years and/or 10,000 miles, 50,000 miles, etc.

It's difficult to evaluate the Fusion fully, because the "brand" has only been on the market for what, 18 months. It's also unlikely that Fusion owners will continue to play on the forums for the very same reason: The novelty quickly loses its luster just as disc brake dust collects on fancy, extra-cost wheels.

FoMoCo would therefore be well-served to survey Fusion owners with longevity, to find out if they are still happy campers. Would they buy another Fusion? Automobile manufacturers can learn a lot more about their products from people who are dissatisfied than from those who just "like everything" about the car.

Much is made about the $17,795 entry-level Fusion price but how does a MSRP $27,105 (ours) Fusion compare to the $27,105 Asian and domestic models in that price range? Is a $27,000 Accord owner happier than a $27,000 Fusion owner?

Are 2006 Fusion owners as happy as 2007 Fusion owners? Will the basic architecture of the car remain the same for 2008, 2009, 2010 or will there be dramatic styling changes that made the 2006s and 2007s look outdated? Boz, more questions than answers in Salisbury (Smallsberry), MD.
