Aftermarket Fog Lights Wiring Help

Recommended Posts

I bought some aftermarket fog lights for my 15 Fusion and I have no clue where to wire them. Theres three cables, ground, live, and a control wire. Ground and live to the battery obviously....but where do I plug the control wire into? (pic attached). They call it a "power-on trigger wire". The instructions say connect to parking light wire but I have no idea where to find it.....any and all help is much appreciated, thanks!

If you look at the wiring harness plugged into the driver's side headlight, the parking lamp wire is typically the green wire with the orange stripe. If you tap the trigger/control wire into this, then turning on the parking lights will trigger the fogs. If you want to tap into the low beam, then tap into the brown wire with the blue stripe. By tapping into the low beams, the fogs will turn on whenever the low beams are on.

The preferred method would be to tie into the low beams. There is never any effective purpose to having fog lights on with the high beams.

Alternately, add a switch at the dash and wire the trigger into the parking light circuit. That would be the most flexible solution.
