My Ford to My Ford Touch?

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow owners. I have a 2016 Fusion S with the base My Ford system with (I believe) a 4" screen and 4 speakers.

My question (I'm sure has been asked a million times. I do apologize) is it possible with current Ford wiring, to switch it out my head unit for a 2013-16 My Ford Touch system? With the proper face plate of course.

I have a big salvage yard in town, and I went to price a factory system, they told there are so many different combinations that I would need to know exactly what I was looking for.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

People sell kits to do it, certainly don't have to replace the whole electrical system of your car from what I gather......

You might be thinking of the update from Sync 2 to Sync 3, that's relatively easy. What the OP wants to do is much more complicated, for example the non-hybrid S doesn't have auto climate control but any Fusion with MFT does. So he'd have to at least update the climate system. Then there's the cluster that is different between the S and MFT. If you're changing the cluster than you need to reprogram just about everything else since the cluster is the main gateway module.

Yeah the panel is different, but the connections and controls are the same on all the panels and swapping over to the MFT also gives you the onscreen controls for HVAC and such as swell. Also you don't have to swap the cluster but you can, and other than getting the mileage correct that's all 100% plug and play if you already did the MFT kit. You don't even need to add an amp from what I gather as the stock radio can be programmed to put out high level outputs or low level for an amp.

This guy does kits for the fusion, there is like 1 or 2 more that I know of but don't remember them right off the top of my head.
