fusionff
Glad the repair worked out for you. There is another thread on the same issue, with a write up (posts # 10 and 20) of what to expect. Botts
Thirty minutes later I came back to the car to lift up the front of the seat and start to lay it back on the rear seat. Disconnect the two plugs - in my case it was one large black plug (approx 1" x 3") with a gray colored latch and one smaller yellow plug. I was able to then lift the seat out by myself, but getting another hand isn't a bad idea. If you were to do it again, would you try and do it with the seat in the car? The technician guide suggests this is possible, and I need to do that repair this weekend. Just wondering about your experience.

I don't think that you can repair the heated seat pad without taking the seat out of the car. It seems that it would be extremely difficult to do without removing the seat.

Traded in my SE model Fusion to get the AWD and heated seats after moving to the mountains in Colorado, but was disappointed to find that although the passenger heated seat worked well, the driver's side wouldn't heat at all. Just wanted to say thanks. Printed out your post and all went well. Start to finish was exactly as long as the 2009 Star Trek movie. Typically I run a seat cushion on the driver's side. What I thought was a smudge on the seat was actually a burn mark - same spot. LESSON LEARNED - I will not kneel on the seat bottom while cleaning the car, just in case. ~Bill
Jalopy
Curious to know if the replacement heating element has lasted? Has anyone had to replace it twice?
