BigMike42
Hi, I am coming from v-8 performance world and have never owned a hybrid car before. I took a video of how the car sounds from the cockpit, it was my impression that hybrids were supposed to be basically silent while driving. This car makes a whining sound that actually makes my ears hurt after a while. Seller is telling me it's just the electric motor, but idk, seems too loud. Car is still below 8yr/100k, but barely (car has 88k on it).
propwash
I don't know about the whining noise, because I've never had a hybrid. You should check out your tire pressure, however. Your TPMS warning light is staring you in the face.
lolder
When under significant acceleration, all the Atkinson Cycle ICE's make quite a droning noise. At steady speed they are almost silent. At steady speeds below about 50 mph the car should be silent with the ICE on or off. Some 2013 FFH's have had transmission problems due to a manufacturing defect but I think that is a steady whine. There is another forum here: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/, that is more active for newer FFH's that you might want to repeat this post on. Clusterliver1
Louder has a good suggestion. You'll get knowledgeable info there. As an owner of a '15 FFH, your noise sounds strange to me.
DiscoverySL
It is normal. In the manual is written about it. It is due the generator of the electrical HV system. But it is usually high pitch. Not these one. Edited February 13, 2017 by DiscoverySL
