2017 MKZ/Fusion/Continental – Window Bounce Back And/Or Loss Of Window One-Touch Up Functionality

Some 2017 MKZ, Fusion, and Continental vehicles may exhibit window bounce back when using the one-touch feature and/or a loss of window one-touch up functionality.

Perform the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) power door window initialization procedure.

The learn procedure is available on IDS software version 103.05 or later.

Access to this IDS learn procedure is available under Toolbox / Body /Power Window Initialization.

No additional repairs should be attempted if this does not resolve the concern.

Engineering is aware and is currently investigating. Monitor OASIS for future updates.

Is there a fix for this by retraining the window using the switch. I don't recall right now what it is, but something like up, down and back up...

Brought my 2017 Fusion Sport to the dealer this AM for the recurrence of the bounce back issue. This time they found, on Oasis, "...ssm 46544 for this concern. reprogrammed ddm and pdm to latest calibration...". Hopefully this is the final fix.

My 2017 MKZ starting doing this the week before last. I didn't bother scheduling a service appointment since it didn't appear that they had a permanent fix yet. However, now it's back to normal. If it starts again, I'll make an appt.

There is a discussion over in Fusion Hybrid Land on this window up/down issue.

I myself had two issues:

  1. Driver's side window won't 1 touch - up
  2. Passenger Window Will 1 touch - up, then bounces back down 2/3rd of the way. Unable to close passenger side window.

Yesterday I took my 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid (Nov 2016 Build Date) to my Ford dealer and asked them to perform TSB 46544. He did not acknowledge or write down "TSB 46544" from my note. The policy is them (dealership) to research that on Oasis for my VIN first. This is so Ford will pay the $56 to apply the update. The service writer tried the famous 1up/1down/1up/1down/1up/1down/ procedure which didn't work. I came back 3 hours later and it was fixed. Paperwork said "Reprogrammed DDM per SSM 46544".

On the Ford Fusion Hybrid forum, a member claims his son has Ford Oasis access. His son claims Ford's system says some Ford Fusions built between November 16 and March 17 are eligible for SSM 46544.

There is another update, SSM 46349 which also supposedly addresses the issue.

This is not confirmed.
