Ford just recently released an update, but whether the car you buy has the update or not is the only thing to worry about. timwil56 Posted March 13, 2017 Share Posted March 13, 2017 The Sport is a great car, but you would save some money by purchasing a Titanium or SEL with a 2.0L. The 2.0 goes pretty good and other than a few features available only on the Sport, they're essentially the same car. I bet the CCD feature will soon be available on the Platinum and Titanium trims and possibly as an option on the SE. mjb1962 Posted March 13, 2017 Author Share Posted March 13, 2017 Thank you all. I like the looks of this car. And with 325 HP/380 Lb-ft of torque I'm sure it will be a fun ride. I did hear about the power drain on the battery. Hopefully Ford has that problem resolved. I really can't find anything else bad said about the car. I will test drive a few then make a decision. Questions I have are do I really need the 401a option package? Seems like it comes pretty well equipped without any options. Maybe the summer only tires? I will take the advise and drive the Titanium AWD as well. I'm leaning towards the V6 though. I'm 54 and this would be my first brand new car. Presently I have a Focus, 2 Jeeps and a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup, lifted, locked, all the goods. But I want a nice comfortable fast car. zip89105 Posted March 14, 2017 Share Posted March 14, 2017 Hell yes, get the 401a upgrade, in fact I'd recommend finding one with the NAV option unless you use your cell phone for NAV. 401a gives enough likable goodies such as Sync3, power passenger seat, 8.4 inch display, and a Sony audio system that is supposedly new for 2017 so can't advise if it's an improvement or not. A local dealer has one of each so if the weather cooperates maybe this weekend. We just got like 2 plus feet of snow here! This car, if I do buy one, will never see the salt of winter here. I have a disposable vehicle dedicated for winter. I'm north of Binghamton, NY in the salt belt. Summer tires should work for an occasional trip outside the garage into the driveway during the winter months! Extremely comfortable, very fast and it handles well enough to take the fear factor out of driving fast on country back roads.
