If I read correctly, only the Sony audio systems offer HD radio.Anyone know if this is correct? It sure appears to be.From ford.com when "building" a 2017 Platinum, but no mention of HD Radio™ even if selecting audio upgrade on SEs: Included A Sony Premium Audio System with 12 Speakers and HD Radio™ comes standard on all Titanium and Platinum models and is available on Sport. ClaveMan Posted June 24, 2017 Share Posted June 24, 2017 I have a 2017 FFH Platinum (includes best SYNC3 audio system) I supposedly have HD Radio capability. I tune to AM 1120 (KMOX St. Louis), an HD Radio station "since 2006". All I get is non HD Radio. No indicator.. It is definitely analog (hear static). What am I doing wrong? How do I get HD Radio on my AM/FM tuner? I looked at the manual but it gave me a headache. drolds1 Posted June 24, 2017 Share Posted June 24, 2017 Is there another AM HD station you can try to rule out technical problems on the one you're trying to listen to? You can search your area on their website. You could also be on the fringe of the HD reception area. Try it on an FM HD station to see if it works there. There's nothing the driver has to do other than tune to an HD station. The multicast indicator is to show when FM HD stations are broadcasting multiple digital channels. Some stations have completely different programming from their main programming on HD2, 3, etc. If it's not working anywhere, then a trip to the dealer is in order. DAB = separate frequency AM / FM / DAB The US 'HD' radio is totally unlike DAB or DAB+ and operates in the same frequency bands as US AM & FM broadcast stations. Since the FCC has limited the 'HD' service of the stations to 10% of the power level of their analog service, reception in fringe areas is only marginally better than the analog service. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
