briandye Posted June 4, 2017 Share Posted June 4, 2017 I have a 2007 Milan. Moved the seat all the way back to vacuum the interior. Seat will not budge forward for the life of me. I was told to have someone press the button to move it forward while I sit in the back and push against it, still didn't move. Everything BUT forward works. I can move it up, down, tilt it, and moved it backwards just fine. I am trying to sell the car, so I need to fix this issue. Im about 6'0 so I can deal with it being back, although its not ideal. I have a multimeter, but have no idea what im looking for, or probing for. Any help is greatly appreciated! 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
briandye Posted June 11, 2017 Author Share Posted June 11, 2017 Fixed the issue. If your motors are making a noise, then the switch is fine. (For example, even if the seat is ALL the way back/forward/up/down etc, and you hit the button to move it more, you should still hear a slight "thud" type noise from the motor trying to move it) I did not hear the noise when pushing the switch forward OR backwards. With a few love taps around the button, I could press the button back, and hear the motor try to move the seat back more. So I pretty much eliminated the idea of bad wiring/plug disconnected, etc. I was able to snap the side bezel far enough off the seat without unbolting anything to remove the switch assembly. I tore it further apart, and found the little contacts inside to be loose and basically dangling around. I plugged it back in, and used a metal pick to make contact, and my seat moved forward just fine. I had some seats from an interior swap I did on my 2006 Explorer, but they were 2010 Explorer power seats. The pass. seat was 6 way power, and had the same switch. Fit right in, plugged it in, and now my seat works in all directions. That switch is insanely overpriced new or used. But if you have any junkyards, there are MANY Ford vehicles that use the same ones. Harlod Posted January 10, 2018 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Did you remove the lumbar knob or the seat recline adjustment arm to get the bezel snapped off to get at the switch?
