sah
How can I go about turning off the horn beep that occurs when I lock the doors with the key fob?
akirby
Don't hit the fob twice. Just press it once.

andyross
One minor issue I have with my 2011 Fusion is that the door locks are relatively quiet since it's 'horizontal'. I'm guessing the 2013+ (and most newer cars) are similar. My 2000 Sable had old-style vertical locks that made a nice CLUNK on locking. With the Fusion, I either have to remember to look to see if the lights flash, or hit it twice to be sure it's locked. There have been reports of thieves using jammers to mostly block the remote signal, so some people may not realize their doors are not locked.
akirby
2013+ is loud enough you can hear it within 10 feet or so.
Waldo
The sound doesn't come from the "vertical" or "horizontal" thing you touch. The sound comes from the latch itself.
andyross
I'm mainly saying that my 2011's is more of a mechanical whirring sound. You can really only hear it if you are near the door, and it's not too noisy nearby. The Sable's was a very loud THUNK you could hear even from far away.
sah
Don't hit the fob twice. Just press it once. Yep - it worked - Thanks. I thought it was selection somewhere in the cars menu.
fusionff
You only press it a second time to confirm that all doors and trunk are closed. One beep means that they are all closed properly, two beeps means that one of the above were left ajar.

I actually hit lock on the keyfob while the door is open but before getting out of the car. You can hear the doors lock. Per the manual the car will arm itself once all the doors/trunk are closed.
