Car Stalled While Stopped

While I was at a red light, the car stopped (stalled), it did start up again right away when I turned the key.

 

This also happened once or twice before about a year ago while I was idling.

 

There was no sputtering or anything else, it was so quite each time that I did not realize at first that it had stopped/stalled.

 

Would anyone have any idea as to what might be happening?

 

The car is a 2014 Ford Fusion Echoboost

Just came from the dealer:

 

They replaced the Throttle Body - Air Intake. They test drove the car with the computer and found a minor problem with the throttle body, which the tech said could be the cause of the stalling. The Throttle Body was replaced under our Extended Warranty.

 

The dealer gave us a loaner which was also a 2014 Fusion. But the loaner had a much smoother ride hand handling then our 2014 Fusion. According to the window sticker, our is a model SE with the EcoBoost emblem on the back. The loaner was also an SE.

 

So we have know idea why the loaner should be so much smoother then ours.

Road tested vehicle, connected IDS checked for codes, performed wiggle test, tapped on throttle body during test verified concern

with idle, code P2111 in PCM, performed pin point tests DV, DV1, DV4, DV5, DV6, DV7, DV9, diagnosed and replaced throttle body assy, cleared KAM. rechecked for codes - passed.

Any idea why the loaner (same year & model) should be so much smother then ours?

Ride and handling is a combination of factors. Brand of tire, air pressure, wheel size, and shocks are the first things that come to mind. Sway bar links & motor mounts have been an issue for some. Previously wrecked could be a concern. Yours may have a secondary issue not found yet. I'd suggest to have your dealer/mechanic do an inspection of your vehicle looking for wear & tear issues. Most dealers do this for free hoping to get the repair job. Then again, sometimes the nature of the beast is that some vehicles are just different from their matching counterparts!
