pwcopy
2012 Fusion SEL, 3.0L, everything but NAV: Did the key-on/put-it-in-reverse test. Though I had to put my ear right on each sensor to hear, all three were ticking away like the igniter on my gas cooktop. May I take it with reasonable certainty that this means the Parking Assist Module is working, and that the dang-hard-to-reach speaker under the rear deck is the fault? I have the SONY stereo. Anything special about changing the speaker with this audio option? Or is it the same drill I've already read up on? May thanks for your help, PW
eGuru
The sensors might be transmitting but that doesn't mean the module is ok. It may not be processing the echo.
pwcopy
OK. Now I know something else might be wrong, and get no help on what to do about it.
eGuru
You need to get some diagnostics run before anyone can give you more than a guess since you have not provided any details about symptoms, etc. Get FORScan and an OBDII interface and you can run your own diagnostic. See this video for inspiration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7OcvxY5a3E
pwcopy
Thanks, eGuru. Will do.
pwcopy
Finally got my ELM327 V2.1 OBD2 II Bluetooth Interface after 6 weeks (Didn't know I was buying it from China!). Tried using it with both FordSysFree and Torque Free apps. Both linked to the interface no prob, but when I asked for fault codes, both apps said no current or pending codes. I even tried running a system check from the steering wheel controls, but the apps still said no codes. The dash display clearly says, "Cross Traffic System Fault" and "Check Rear Park Assist." Neither system sounds an alarm when there is cross traffic or I'm getting close to something with the rear bumper. What do I do now?
pwcopy
It would have been nice to have been advised that the scan tool must have an MS-CAN/HS-CAN switch to read fault codes. The video provided by eGuru may contain this info but the link is kaput. There is WAY TO MUCH assumption that people who are first-time posters have the same level of knowledge as the geniuses who inhabit this forum. At any rate, I'm done with the DIY shite and off to the shop to get a code reading.
akirby
So it's our fault that you didn't do your own research and didn't ask any questions about specific products? Always gotta blame somebody else. SMDH
