palfer Posted January 3, 2018 Share Posted January 3, 2018 Hello-new to this forum and relatively new to working on Ford products. My Fusion has 103K miles and runs great. Was changing the oil and noticed for the first time some dried oil staining on the engine where it mates up to the transmission. On other vehicles I've worked on this is a tell-tale rear main seal leak indication. Wanted to see if these vehicles have any "usual suspect" oil leak locations and if the rear main is a known problem area. Appreciate any guidance you all can provide. lolder Posted January 3, 2018 Share Posted January 3, 2018 Yes, this year FFH had a history of case seal leaks but not main shaft seal. You say "dried", you should clean it and see if it still leaks.
