Ford Fusion ST Coming After All?

 

I posted a topic about the Fusion ST coming here back 29 December 2013.  The Fusion ST never happened, rather it became the Fusion Sport instead as did the Ford Edge Sport.

 

Now that the Edge Sport is the Edge ST, I have to believe that the Fusion Sport will die and become the Fusion ST. That is if Ford doesn't kill off the Fusion all together. 

 

Who else thinks that the Fusion ST is coming?

As much as I hate to admit it, the Fusion ST will never come. They already killed off the manual transmission, its just not going to happen. Unless they remove a sport badge and apply an ST badge, but that wouldn't be true to the ST name.

You don’t need a manual tranny.   They’ve already announced the Edge ST with the new 8 spd automatic.  No reason we won’t get a similar Fusion ST.

Of course you don't need it, but in my opinion, taking away the manual transmission takes away a lot of the fun. The ST and RS should be a drivers car, and should have a stick. I think the new edge with an automatic is a poor decision, and another step closer to the death of the manual.

The Edge has never been available with a manual trans. Nothing has changed.  How would the Edge ST's non-availability with a MTX  be a step closer to the death of the manual?

Edge is not a sports car and isn’t offered in the states with a manual.  The manual died years ago.   Even BMW stopped offering manuals.
