Bret Cummins
When reviewing Ford's website awhile back, I realized they updated the Edge and are now calling the Sport model, the Edge ST. What's the difference between a Sport and a ST? I know ST stands for Sport Technology. I thought maybe the Sport packages on Ford's were just a bigger engine and visually sportier inside and out and the ST were the same but had sportier tuned suspension and better brakes but the Explorer Sport has a different tuned suspension. I'm talking about across the board of Ford vehicles, not just the Edge.
FusionDiffusion
There isn't really a specific equipment list or anything for Sport or ST, it's up to Ford what they want to do and call it. In general, ST > Sport in terms of sportiness. A Sport model may have a larger engine, distinctive body trim, larger wheels, and a sportier suspension than a regular trim. An ST takes that a bit further and may add even more engine performance, stiffer handling, and high performance brakes. ST may have more of a racing interior with a Recaro seat option for example.
akirby
It’s really simple. Sport models are regular factory models and ST models are created and tuned by Ford Performance just like the Ford GT, Mustang GT350, F150 Raptor, Focus RS, Focus ST. The ST includes improved suspension and handling, engine and transmission tuning among other things.
Fusionpursuit
I think the ST version of the Edge looks worse than the Sport (especially the exhaust outlets)
