Mike B
We should take delivery of our 2018 Platinum saturday. When I built it online, the only options I put on it were the trunk cargo net and lighted door sill plates. Dealer found one of the color that I want 250 miles away. They should be going to go get it today or tomorrow. Cargo net is no big deal, as I can get one from there parts department. Question is, If I ordered the lighted sill plates, will they be an easy plug in, or will I have to run wires. It's not a deal breaker for me, just think it would be cool to have. Thanks,
drolds1
It's not a plug-in. Ford recommends dealer installation but if you're at all handy, it's not that difficult a DIY job. See the video here.
Mike B
Thanks for the info and video link. Doesn't seem to terribly hard, just time consuming. I was thinking that they would get power from the door switch and not the dome light.
drolds1
You're welcome. IDK where the factory setup for the sills gets it power from but the door switches are now in the latch. No more separate button like in years past.
