Tonyg
Hello, first time member looking for some help! I have a 2016 fusion se 2.0L awd with 57k miles. Has been making a cross between a click/clack/binding sound when turning wheel to full crank and returning, also very noticeable at parking lot crawl speeds. Local Ford dealer said the usual suspects, strut mounts, sway bar bushings, and end links. Replaced them myself and still having issues. I even replaced control arms to eliminate that. Anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped at this point. Thanks in advance.

Tonyg
That's really all that's left that hasn't been replaced but I am not convinced that is it..it isnt *that* kind of click. It is hard to describe. It's almost like it sounds like something is binding. Much more pronounced in hot weather or when car been running for a while. It makes a tinny kind of sound too when you are at a stop and start to roll forward. This all seems to appear after the steering wheel bolt recall. I wonder if they messed jo something in the column?
drolds1
No, the CV joints shouldn't be worn at this mileage unless the boots are torn. I just threw it out there since you mentioned clicking while turning: a classic bad CV joint symptom. I don't know what they could have done to the column. All they were doing was putting in a longer bolt with a nylon insert but I don't have the TSB or SSM for it either, so who knows? That said, it shouldn't be that hard for a competent shop to figure it out. Could be something covered under the 5/60 powertrain warranty. propwash
If the noise only occurs when you are turning the steering wheel, it might be something in the steering rack assembly.
FusedNV
I have a 17' Sport and mine does the same thing. Most of the forums on Facebook says that it's the hub bearing.

Ralphy2011
I have this exact problem with my 2011 AWD 3.0, my first thought was the strut mount or the strut itself because it only make it on one side and if you put pressure on that side while the car isnt running in park it does it as well
