OzzyNF
the driver's side heated seat has stopped working... the light comes on for a few seconds then goes off... is this a wiring problem? Has anyone experienced this before?
eGuru
That symptom occurs when the heated seat module detects a fault with the heating pad or an over-temp condition. Sometimes it may be a defective temperature sensor or the heating pad has "burned" and shorted. Pull the 4-pin connector at the seat and measure the resistance between pins 1 (YE-BU) &2(VT-GN) for the heater element and between 3(VT)&4(YE-VT) for the NTC thermistor. For the backrest heater mat, just measure the resistance across the pins of the 2-pin connector. The backrest doesn't have its own thermistor. It is usually the seat that fails.
fusionff
It's common with many manufacturers heated seats. A wire has broken or burnt through in most likely the seat pad. Read this thread.
