Fusionboy99
Hi Guys. I'm new to this Ford Fusion Forum. I have 2014 Ford fusion AWD. I love the car and great in winter time. Unfortunately, the other day I had check engine light come. So, I went over auto zone to get scanned. Now Fusion showing a error code P0234, which is Turbo Wastegate Solenoid error. Just keep you mind that I would take the fusion to ford dealer to fix, but unfortunately I don't have ford warranty because it was voided due prior salvage. So, I'm asking if anyone has the same problem and was able to fix this problem themselves. I really don't want to go to ford dealer because they will charge me a arm and leg to fix the problem. Any information would help me a lot. Thank you. Jamie
bangster
Could be as simple as a vacuum line popped off or the 18 dollar solenoid is bad and needs replaced. Specifically the p0234 code is turbo overboost condition, so I wouldn't drive like that for long, it can be bad on the engine if it really is in overboost condition, which it likely is. I don't have a 2.0 turbo car, just a 1.5 (which uses a different setup), and I haven't had any issues with it, but do know it uses vacuum for this purpose, and the solenoid has 3 vacuum lines. RJW
Hi All, I have a 2013 Fusion 2.0 with a p0234 code showing. I have replaced the Boost Solenoid based on the info I have found on forums. However the code has come back less than 2 hours later. Any thoughts on what else could be the problem?
Fusionboy99
Hi, did you replace solenoid on the top engine or near booster?
